Filip loves to figure out how stuff works — deconstructing things only to put them back together — so its understandable that he gravitated towards editing when he was fresh out of film school.
He applied himself to the craft as if it was a puzzle to be solved. This approach created a special understanding of visual storytelling and what makes a narrative work, which can be seen in his pacing and the use of music and sound design.
He started his directing career in comedy and has done several episodes for the TV-series Grotesco and Boymachine, and still has a love for humor and long form drama that shines through in his work and in his ambitions.
Filip Tellander is a versatile director, decent piano player and fun loving animal with several world wide campaigns for brands such as MERCEDES, NIKE, AUDI, VOLVO, H&M, LEXUS and many others. He still edits all his own films with the same excitement and keen interest he had when he was fresh out of film school. His thoughtful, collaborative and unflappable approach to directing has had the ability to show just how grand life can be through his undeniably powerful films.
