VALDIMAR JÒHANSSON is writer and director that hails from the north of Iceland who has sharpened his filmmaking teeth by directing the award winning short films Harmsaga and Dögun, and working in the Icelandic film industry for over twenty years. From 2013-2015, Valdimar studied at Bela Tarr’s experimental filmmaking lab, film.factory, in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina. While studying at film.factory, Valdimar was mentored by creatives as Tilda Swinton, Guy Madden, Gus Van Sant, Carlos Reygadas and Apichatpong Weerasethakulamong.
Valdimar is currently working on his highly anticipated first feature film, LAMB. Equal parts drama and fantasy, LAMB tells the story of Maria and Ingvar, childless early forties Icelandic sheep farmers who face an unexpected change in circumstances that brings them great joy before ultimately destroying them.
